Dear Member/Friend of RWSUM,
Our steady encouragement of Minnesota Opera to produce Wagner is paying off! In November [12th through 20th], Minnesota Opera will present their first ever Ring production, Das Rheingold, with a stellar cast which includes Denyce Graves, Greer Grimsley and our own Dennis Petersen.
This presents us with an important opportunity to foster future Ring and other Wagner productions, while enhancing RWSUM's ability to preserve and promote our Wagner cultural inheritance. To accomplish this, it is essential that the Rheingold production be a major success!
To these ends we ask two things of you:
First, to attend Minnesota Opera's production of Das Rheingold and to urge your friends to do likewise.
Second, to generously contribute to the RWSUM Sponsorship Fund; your contribution is fully tax deductible and every penny will go to Minnesota Opera to support this production.
Rheingold Tickets: You can get a 20% ticket discount in 2 ways. Opera subscribers can give their 20% single discount ticket price to any of their friends and if you are a friend of either subscriber Renate Sharp ([email protected]) or Jerry Swenson ([email protected]), use their name when you order your tickets. Further, the MN Opera has created a 20% discount called wagnersociety20 exclusive to Wagner Society members for the productions of November 15, 17 and 19. RWSUM Sponsorship Fund: Our goal is to achieve Lead Sponsor status ($25 K). If we are successful, our 8 largest contributors who have opening night tickets will receive complimentary seats at the opening night Camerata Dinner, and those who have tickets to another night will receive other special recognition.
